Description
Alcohol by Volume is the measurement of how much alcohol (or ethanol) is present in a given sample. Alcohol is produced during fermentation when the yeast converts sugars to ethanol. Alcohol levels can affect a variety of different factors during the wine making process including malolactic fermentation completion. Obtaining the Alcohol by Volume of a given sample is also a crucial part of the wine label making process and can influence tax rates for bonded wineries.
