About Us

Vinmetrica  is a company specializing in products for wine, beer and kombucha analysis, with a focus on simplicity, low cost, and quality. We are developing products in the area of wine testing, targeted at professional and home vintners and brewers who need reliable analyses for sulfite (SO2), titratable acidity (TA), malic acid, alcohol by volume, residual sugar and pH. Vinmetrica was founded in December of 2009 by Dr. Richard Sportsman. He has been an enthusiastic amateur vintner for 20 years, during which time he finally got tired of trying to use inaccurate, unreliable and/or unwieldy products for wine testing. Vinmetrica thus grew out of his desire to make the vintner’s job easier and more predictable.

  1. Dear Dr. Richard,
We are a diagnostic laboratory supply company based in South Africa.
We got a strong presence in the Wine industry and got requests for the following:

Please assist with a pro Forma invoice.
We are very interested to be in a business association with your company.
Do you have distributorship in South Africa, if not I can forward a company profile, and start communication, via what sup, zoom Skype.

    1. Gerard,
We will be in touch through email regarding distribution in South Africa. Please keep an eye out for our email.

  2. Hello
I just made an order to restock my SO2 analyzer kit
I had an order ready to go for the 450mL sizes but wanted to check on the shipping times. So I opened another tab and put the 100mL size in the cart looking for the ship date. Finding no info on the shipping time, I closed the tab and went back to my order page which still showed only the 450mL size for only$120. But after clicking the place order button I get the notice that I’ve ordered both sizes.

Please correct this order and your system to avoid this in the future.

    1. John
Thank you for contacting us. We just sent you an email about your order. We will make the needed changes to your order and issue the refund.
      Thanks
      Taylor

  3. Dear Sir, I would like to purchase a SC300 complete kit at the US$485. I am Australian and wish to order directly. I consider your agent here in Australia is marking it up too much. The reasons given that it is dangerous goods and such! I do not agree with this. How do I arrange to buy one? I need it soon and use PayPal for payment having used it before Re US.

My email is below and look forward to your response.
    Peter
PS what is the size of the 3LBS box?

    1. Peter,
thanks for your interest in our products. We can sell you an SC-300, but it would be without the Acid solution used in SO2 tests. This is because it is 2M (~6% by weight) hydrochloric acid, considered dangerous goods, and therefore not possible to ship by the US Postal Service, which is the cheapest option (~$150 shipping cost; FEDEX would allow the Acid solution but then you are talking about $300 or more). So you would have to source or make the Acid solution yourself (although this is not hard; we can provide more information). Then you also have to consider the possibility of customs duties or taxes that we cannot estimate on our end.
If you send us your complete postal address we can give you a better estimate on shipping costs through USPS or FEDEX.
